I am having major problems with Mx crashing and I’m not convinced it’s something I’m doing wrong (could be majorly wrong there). Every time I run my design input file, extra strings are being created (string name %%%%) within the Ground Model, and if I allow these to build up, Mx keeps falling over. Also, in addition to this I am having to clear out the temp files that Mx produces periodically (I understand these are supposed to be removed every time Mx closes, but it isn’t doing this. At the minute I can’t work out whether it’s something within my input files (I don’t think it is), the set up of Mx on my machine or insufficient memory on my hard drive to keep Mx stable.
I would really appreciate any help you can provide to rectify this problem.
The reason for the %%%% strings in the ground model is 2 fold.
I suspect you are using Non Tan alignment, and using extension (103,104,105,134) of slopes from the strings in the ground model to a string in the design model. This then fails, as one of the strings is going in the opposite direction to the other.
I hope this solves the problem
