We work in both Microstation V8 and PowerCivil. Within Microstation there is a command that will set an element to an elevation, and then increment up or down to a new elevation. This command is very useful when setting contours to the correct eleveation. The command will not work in Powerstation, is there a command that will set an element to an elevation and then increment to a new elevation?
From the InRoads dialog box select Surface>Design Surface>Set Elevation. Set the Input Mode to Single, key-in the desired elevation at the bottom of the dialog box at Elevation and then select Apply and Identify the element.

We are working in PowerCivil and there is no Deisign Surface command. Is it lable as something else?

You can move an element to a new elevation by selecting it, picking your start point and using the key-in browser to enter XY = #,#,[elevation] (as in XY=#,#,850). The number signs (hashtags) tell MicroStation to use the start point X and Y values, but move to the elevation you give it.
This is pretty basic, and doesn't automatically increment, but it can get elements where they need to go. IIRC, PowerCivil doesn't have the surface commands so you may be pretty limited there.

There are two Power Civil Versions - the original was based upon GEOPAK so its tools follow GEOPAK logic and workflows. The other is based upon InRoads and has InRoads Workflows. The methods MaryB point out can work. I believe GEOPAK has tools to assign elevations to contours but my GEOPAK days were a long time ago.
