I have a project with two miles of interstate both north and southbound. The state is worried about hydroplaning so we used a mobile lidar system to obtain the surface information. I created a surface from the collected points and ran the "drainage patterns" analysis tool. The result shows all of the possible drainage paths but there are WAY too many. The drawing looks very busy and Id like to delete many of the shorter lines. I am wondering if there is a setting that can be changed to reduce the amount of flow lines, or possibly a filter that can identify all the line strings under a specified length. I didnt see any way to do this through element selection. AutoCad has a similar tool called quickselect that can filter out lengths. Any microstation equivalent? Im open to all suggestions besides manually deleting the lines, which would take entirely too long. Thanks
There is not tool related to GEOPAK Drainage that can perform a similar function. The tool you are using creates a drainage flow line from the center of every triangle in the surface so the only option would be to create a surface with less triangles. Another option with the Drainage tools would be to use the Downstream Trace which would allow you so individually place lines as needed.
