Geopak- Draw Ancillary Features crashes

When plotting ancillary features on cross sections, my Microstation session crashes for miscellaneous reasons. Here are a couple of examples:

1. Loading a .afd file
2. Deleting an existing entry
3. In the display settings, changing the selection from "text" to "cell" 

Has anybody had this issue and have an idea of how to fix it? It is quite annoying.
