System: Power InRoads V8i SS2 V08.11.07.566, Windows 7, ProjectWise V8i SS4 V08.11.11.111
Problem: When creating a report Quantity Manager (QM) CREATES the file Nulltmp.xml in this folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\PowerInRoads V8i\PowerInRoads\InRoadsGroup\QM\classes\javarun\bin\nulltmp.xml
then the Stylesheet LOOKS for the file in this folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\PowerInRoads V8i\PowerInRoads\InRoadsGroup\QM\classes\nulltmp.xml
and of course can't find it.
Q. How can i configure these file Paths to the same folder?
I think previous versions used the %temp% folder as far as remember.
I can't find anything useful in the QM.CFG file.
The QM.ERR file reports this:
(Location of error unknown)java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\PROGRA~2\Bentley\POWERI~1\POWERI~1\INROAD~1\QM\classes\nulltmp.xml (The system cannot find the file specified)
The QM.OUT file reports this:
errFileName = C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\PowerInRoads V8i\PowerInRoads\InRoadsGroup\QM\classes\qm.err
outFileName = C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\PowerInRoads V8i\PowerInRoads\InRoadsGroup\QM\classes\qm.out

This issue sounds similar to a problem reported for the SS2 version regarding the User write permissions on the machine. As Windows progressed to locked down the Program Files folder through the implementation of Vista and then more with Windows 7, they made it hard to write files to these folders for certain permissions because they transitioned this to a read only folder. There isn't any variable or setting we can change to alter the folder the program is writing to as it is coded in the program.
What rights do you have to the machine (standard user, Power user, admin, etc.)?
Do you have the UAC Enabled? You can try to disable the UAC to see if it will create the correct folder.
One suggestion from a developer is to download and install the latest SS2 release in case there was some programatic issue that was resolved because they recall some similar issues working with SS2 and this this could have been fixed in progressive releases. The latest version of InRoads is 08.11.07.615.
