I have survey field data in an excel file, back sight, occupied location, Horivontal angle, sight distance, and vertical anle. I could enter each line into PowerCivil via the Locate by angle command, is there a way to import the information?
Not sure what options Power Civil has but if similar to InRoads Survey the import survey has many import types on the list. The bottom of the list is Text File (*.*). Once you select the text file you will get the import text file wizard that walks through defining the format.

I could not find a way to import a text file (*.*). I have found that PowerCivil and InRoads are simalar but not the same. I hope this is not the final anwser.
@sreng - would it help to first export your spreadsheet to an XML or at least CSV file?

Hi Sreng,
Mike is correct, the workflow is the same for PowerCivil as it is for InRoads and Power InRoads.
Select File>Import>Survey Data
Change the Files of type to Text File(*.*) and navigate to your .txt file and proceed through the wizard.
Thanks,
Sanders

Where did the excel data come from? Most data collectors have a variety of output formats. And Power Civil can be GEOPAK version or InRoads version - but both/either can read a wide variety of data collector formatted files.
