I imported an existing vertical alignment from a profile. When I annotate it to show the existing grades, it shows the grades for every minor change and it is impossible to read. Is there a way to set a certain interval to annotate the tangent grades or do I have to draw an exiting vertical alignment from the profile manually using better judgement?
Thanks!
Aka.
Which Product are you using MX, InRoads, Geopak, Power Civil ?
Purva,
I tried it both in Inroads and RailTrack. Thanks!
There are no options when annotating a grade for the vertical alignment to create some sort of tolerance or interval to "thin" the amoutn of information that is displayed in the annotation. Any time there is a vertices change for the surface triangulation, the grade changes on the vertical alignment, so we annotate that change in grade.
The best option would be to create a design vertical to place linear elements and curves and the grades can be annotated much easier. You can do this through the Vertical Regression tools to create a Best Fit vertical alignment from your existing geometry. Here is a video that will demonstrate the Vertical Regression tools: communities.bentley.com/.../15785.video-inroads-vertical-regression-analysis.aspx
Another option would be to create a new vertical by placing linear elements along the existing surface (or existing vertical), but exclude most of the points to manually thin the amount of information that is on the vertical alignment, thus making the annotation not appear so much.
