I am setting up a MX user guide for my company, and i want to make it as easy as possible for people setting up MX for a new project and to create consistency.
I want to create a default project setting circled below in the attached image. However, when i paste the new file into the same location as AU_metric with a different name it does not appear in the drop down menu.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Can you attached the project setting file and I'll check it on my system.
I found out what was the problem when i was trying to paste the files into here.
The file extension for my files was .+prm & .+gui. Not sure how the plus got added on, maybe when i copied from AU_metric. So when i removed the plus sign, it appeared in the drop down menu. Thanks for looking to help though.

However, i can see the file in the drop down menu, but when i start a new project and select it, MX freezes and eventually crashes.

The file you attached seems to have gaps or spaces added which are causing a problem, it's very important to carefully edit the parameter file to make sure no gaps or spaces are added.
It is recommended to use the Parameter File editor when changing the file as opposed to a text editor. this can be found on the MX Properteis tool panel (Programs>Bentley>MX v8i>MX Options)
Can you check that the attached parameter file works for you. It has been set up with your values and checked with the Parameter File editor for errors.
