Supplemental Files: Tips and Tricks for Optimizing Corridor Processing Speeds

Due to the enhanced functionality of Bentley OpenRoads, when working with large and/or complex data, users may experience performance issues when processing corridor data. To address this, OpenRoads has several built-in tools and settings which will optimize corridor processing. We have also gathered suggestions from a variety of engineers, designers, and developers which have been proven to increase processing speeds.

As part of this process, updates were made to the examples workspace. The workspace files that were updated can be downloaded using the "Download" button above. The changes that were made include:

  • The Curve densification variables were changed from 0.05 to 0.1 (imperial) and from .015 to .03 for metric.
  • Settings were changed in existing design stages.
  • A new design stage was added to enable external point controls
  • The default nesting depth was changed from 1 to 0.

For detailed information on these changes, please review the following wiki and PowerPoint presentation.
