I want to insert a PI on a tangent in the same exact bearing to create a defined point on the line, however InRoads will not let me insert the point. I can insert a point if I move it off bearing, but if I move it back to the straight bearing, it removes the point.
This works as designed because the Curve Set PI tool will only create this Point of Intersection at the location where two tangents with different bearings intersect each other. It is not intended to split the element if the bearing is the same.
One workaround is to force the element to split/break using the Geometry > Horizontal Elements > Cut Elements to cut the tangent into two separate elements thus forcing the geometry to have two separate tangent elements. Using this tool it will create two separate elements which can have the same bearing because you are creating the element points and not a computed Point of Intersection.
