When using Corridor Modeler, the cross section components look fine in the Roadway Design, however, when cutting cross sections using the Draw Cross Sections from Surface command, the components do no display. Often times, the point labels are being drawn, but no components.
There are a few common reasons for this, please check the following:
1.) Is the cross section being cut at the ‘exact’ station where a component begins or ends (by template drop/display rule/end condition solution/etc…)? If so, it could be a precision/tolerance problem where the component and cross section are not exactly at the same same station. The workaround for this case is to move the cross section station a small distance after the component starts.
2.) Do all the points that make up the component cross the section line? In the case of a skewed cross section, or a component that extends past the offset extents of the cross section grid, not all points that make up the component cross the section line, and the component will not display. The workaround for this case is to define the GPK_USE_MESH_FOR_XS_COMPONENTS variable to show components in the cross sections from meshes, instead of from their points.
3.) Is the component clipped by another corridor? If a component is being clipped by another corridor, it may display clipped in the 3D view when the Create Surface command is initially run, but it will not be displayed in any cross sections, or by any other command that will display components. The workaround for this is to prevent the component from being clipped. In some cases when the other corridor is targeting a point used the component, it may be necessary to add asmall horizontal offset to guarantee that the targeting corridor does not overlap, and will therefore not clip.
