A Schematic Plan model is created by generating a version of the reference string as a straight line. The elements within a specified distance from the original string are recreated in new model along the new string

Steps to Accomplish

Load the tool via Analysis > 2D Schematic Plan.

Select the Model and Reference String (generally the centre line of the design) and click Next.

Define Selection Set panel is the next setup panel.

Setup up the selection set for the new design, you can include all strings by using ???? as the string name. You can also exclude specific strings from the process. Select Next when you have set up the selection set you require.

Define the parameters to create the models and define the area of the new model.

Default Output Model Prefix- the new model name is created by adding a prefix to the existing selected model. Change the default 'SP' to what you require.

Default Offset Exaggeration - modifies the scale factor on the vertical axis of the schematic design. This exaggerates the distance from the reference string to elements within the offset distance, making it easier to see small differences.

Left Offset and Right Offset - defines the distance from reference string to be included in the new design.

New position - specifies the start point of the schematic design. Select by entering coordinates or pick a point.

Display Selected Models - when the models have been created, draw them using the default style set.

Offset Report - creates a report (*.xls) relative to the new reference string using the mask set (See MX help on Report normals to a string). Select the name of the new report to enable this option. The report can created while the panel is still open to check the proposed string points, or on exit when the new models have been created.

SelectCreate Models when you have set up the panel as you require to create the new strings in the model file.

The option to save changes will be shown as below.

Selecting Yes will give you the option to saves the current settings to a *.stp file which can be loaded if you need to run the process again.

Select Close on the Output Review panel to close the tool.

If you display the prefixed model if will display the Schematic Plan along a straight line reference string.

Define Selection Set panel is the next setup.

Setup up the string mask set for the new design, you can include all strings by adding ???? to the selection set. You can also exclude specific strings from the process. Select Next when you have set up the selection set you require.

Define the parameters to create the models and define the area of the new design.

If you display the prefixed model if will display the Schematic Plan along a strigh line reference string.
