When importing Data Files into a Field Book, how does the program treat multiple points with the same name?
1.) Duplicate Coordinate Records – Duplicate Point Feature prompt is issued to user to determine how to import.
2.) Duplicate Control Points – Duplicate Point Feature prompt is issued to user to determine how to import. (In releases prior to 722, only the first control point imported was used.)
3.) Duplicate Observations – First point used to calculate coordinates. Redundant observations not used until Least Squares adjustment is run.
The points imported into a fieldbook can be classified in one of the three categories above.1.)Coordinate Records are fixed points, normally imported from an XYZ text file, or recorded as points with known coordinates in the raw file, SP (TDS) or 08KI (SDR) for example.2.)Control Points are coordinate records that have been designated by the user, either in Survey Settings or manually, to be control points used for Adjustment.3.)Observations are the typical angular records that are reduced by the program.
