How can I remove the civil data from a DGN?

Problem:

I have a DGN file with SS3 civil data. How can I export this file and strip all the civil data?

Solution:

There are three options to remove all civil data from the DGN, leaving behind only MicroStation graphics:

To export to a DWG and strip all civil data, use File > Export to DWG
Attach the DGN as a reference file to a new, blank DGN, then Merge the Reference into the active DGN file using Merge into Master from the Reference File tools.

To export to a DGN and strip all civil data, use the tool Copy/Move Fence Contents to File
