    Problem.

Can True Type Fonts be used in MX for Annotation ?

    Solution

Yes they can. You can do it either using Linemode or using your style set. They can also be used in Final Drawing MXTips files.

In a style set for example if you want to annotate chainage using a True Type Font, open you your style set, and open the Road Centrelines Feature. Then expand, Set Text Style, ensuring that it is before the Draw the String Option. Order is important.

Then go to the Font Option and hit the Browse button,. Here you will be able to select either Hardware, Software or True Type Fonts. See screen grab below.

Note if you wish, you can also select a Microstation Text Style here too.

OK on this and Text Style is now set for this feature.

If you wish to do this in an input file, then you need to add the following lines to your input file before the DRAW 825 line :

    808,TTF

    001,c:\winnt\fonts\arialbd.ttf

Where 001 is the path to the True Type Font you want to use on your machine.
