I would like to create a quick cross section of my surface without having an alignment. Is that possible?
The "Multipoint Alignment" option in Cross Sections>Create Cross Sections>Source will extract the cross sections between user-specified points in your drawing with data points. After clicking apply, you are prompted to "Identify Point", and you can interactively choose the cross section line.
If the alignment name is blank when creating a cross section, then a temporary alignment is created. The cross section is created using the temporary alignment which means that the cross section has no intelligence. A cross section without intelligence cannot be annotated or updated, etcetera. If an alignment name is given then an alignment is created and added to the Geometry project when the location for the cross section is identified.
