How to limit Cross Sections to a Boundary

This wiki article will detail the process of limiting the extents of cross sections to a boundary
Steps to Accomplish
Option 1 - Sections Already Cut
Copy the boundary strings to the model where the sections strings are stored.
Use the
Trim Model to a Boundary
tool to trim the section strings to the boundary
Load the
Create Cross Sections
tool and open the trimmed cross section model using
View Existing Cross Sections.
In the
Cross Sections: Working Drawing
panel set the required Section Set (Existing Ground in example below) as the
Reference Section Set
using the Icon highlighted below.
When the section set is set as the
Reference Section Set
it will have a
*
beside it as below.
In the
Scales and Range
tab set to
Relative
and
Left Offset
and
Right Offset
to 0 as below.
This will limit the drawing of the cross section to the extents of the
Reference Section Set
.
Select
Apply
and the Cross sections drawings will be created.
Option 2 - Sections not Cut
Create a copy of the survey model and copy the boundary strings to this copy of the survey model.
Use the
Trim Model to a Boundary
tool to trim the survey model to the boundary
Load the
Create Cross Sections
tool and create new cross section using the Design model and the Trimmed Survey Model.
Follow Steps 4 to 6 in
Option 1
to create the Cross sections drawings.
