    Draw Profile - Project Profile

Product(s): GEOPAK Civil Engineering Suite, PowerGEOPAK
    Version(s): 08.11.07+
Area:  Draw Profile - Profile Projection
Original Author: Beebe Ray, Bentley Technical Support Group

    Question:

Need to cut an existing profile along a chain but have it reference another alignment for stationing purposes.

    Answer:

Use the Draw Profile tool to project a profile of another chain's profile onto the primary profile.  First of course you will need to store an existing ground profile for the chain you would like to project.  Then you will go under the Application menu go to Road>Plan Preparation>Draw Profile.  Select the job number and Chain for the Profile you want to project to.  Then switch to the Projection Tab.  in the Details section of the Draw Profile dialog, set the Type to Cogo Chain and select the name of the Chain to project and it's profile.  Then set the Display Settings at the bottom to draw the profile element the way you would like and then use the icons along the side to add it to the list.
