Question:

Can I generate a Horizontal Alignment chain and profile from a Linear Survey Feature (similar to the Convert Survey Chains to Cogo Chains command in GEOPAK Survey, or the Survey Data to Geometry command in InRoads Survey)?

Answer:

Yes, you can use the 3D Geometry tool “Plan by 3D Element”. This tool will let you select a survey chain or any 3D linear object and convert it to a Horizontal Geometry with a Profile. When use the Plan by 3D Element tool on Survey linear features, the features must only contain line and arc segments. Features with bslpline curves will not be able to create horizontal geometry.
