Question:

I have defined a range for my Feature Definition Point Control and for my Horizontal Feature Constraint in the template, how is this range applied when the template is dropped in the corridor? Where does range start and end looking for the Feature Definition?

Answer:

Range uses the offsets as defined in the template. For example, if your point is currently at -38 offset in the template, and the range is 18, the point will look from -38 to -20 offset from the corridor baseline for the feature definition. When assigning a range to a point control using the Feature Definition Control Type, the program will determine the offset of the point that is assigned the point control, and apply the range value to the offset of that point as it exists in the template.
