Corridor Modeler: Import DDB to Styles Error: Failed to Import Styles

Problem:

When I open Corridor Modeler and try to import a DDB file in order to create my XIN Styles to be used by Roadway Designer I get an error message that says failed to import styles. The XIN file is created but when I go to the Geometry section or the Plan Graphics my drop down for Styles is blank.

Solution:

This is a problem that we have seen in support only a handful of times. It has proved difficult to troubleshoot and solve in the past. However, the following tips have had success in resolving this issues in a couple of instances.

Troubleshooting Steps:

Perform a clean removal of the PowerGEOPAK/GEOPAK Civil Engineering Suite product
If running layered GEOPAK, uninstall MicroStation using the uninstall function in the Windows Control Panel.
Download and install the following two DLLs from the Microsoft website. They should be in the C:\Windows\system32 directory on a 32bit machine or C:\Windows\SysWOW64 on a 64bit machine. Even if they already exist on the machine, it may be worthwhile to download and reinstall them, since these are the controls GEOPAK uses to read and write the XML data in the XIN file. Please refer the the installation instructions that can be found on the Microsoft website.

Register the DLL files.
Reinstall MicroStation (if running layered GEOPAK)
Reinstall Power GEOPAK/Civil Engineering Suite
Test to see if the issue if corrected.
If not, log into the machine using an administrator log-in and see if the same issue exists. If you are able to log on as administrator and the problem is resolved, you may need to create a new user profile for the individual that is experiencing the problem.
