Slow Processing When "Use Cells" is Enabled

Problem:

I have noticed that when I have "Use Cells" enable in Tools > Survey Options, my survey data processes very slowly and InRoads sometimes freezes.

Solution:

In MicroStation, go to Workspace > Configuration:

Locate the variable MS_CELLLIST.

Select "Edit". Notice the paths that are included in the "Expansion" list.

When the survey data is processed and "Use Cells" in enabled, the product will search every cell library in every folder that is listed here. The more places InRoads has to search, the longer it will take. Reducing the number of paths included here or simply pointing only to the needed cell library can significantly improve processing times.
