This wiki explains the "Analyze Volume" tool in "Analysis and Reporting" category in OpenRoads.

The 'Analyze Volume" tool is used to compute volumes between two models or a model and plane. The volume is computed between the entire model and elevation or the union of two models. If it is intended to compute volume for a part of terrain, a boundary can be specified to get the volume.

    Steps :

    1. From 'Task Manger' select "Civil Tools > Analysis & reporting > Analyze Volumes".

    2. Specify the Volume method.

    3. Specify "From Terrain Model", and "To Terrain Model".

    4. Set 'Cut Factor' and 'Fill Factor'. Cut factor is applied to the cut volume. This "Cut Factor" defines how much the volume of the material will increase after it is removed from the ground. The default value 1.0 does no adjustments. Similarly, the "Fill Factor" defines how much the volume of the fill material will decrease after it is placed into the site. The default value 1.0 does no adjustments.

    5. Accept with a data point.
