Question:

In previous versions, if I ran the Merge Into Master command on a reference file that contained a survey field book, the field book would be copied into the current DGN. Beginning in version V08.11.09.872, only the graphics are copied, and not the field book.

Answer:

Beginning in the V08.11.09.872, a change was made to the MicroStation (platform) "Copy" command, and the "Merge Into Master" command so they only copy graphics by default, and do not copy the civil model data, thus creating fieldbooks. To enable the "Copy" and "Merger Into Master" tools to create survey field book data, set the following configuration variable: CIVIL_SURVEY_RETAIN_SURVEY_ON_COPY=1.
