Video: Reason and solution for element not valid for Tool error & Create Civil Rule Feature

    Applies To
    Product(s): Open Roads Technology
    Version(s): 08.11.09+
    Environment:  N/A
    Area:  Open Roads Technology
    Subarea: Create Civil Rule Feature
Original Author: Purva Lakde. Product Advantage Group

Create Civil Rule Feature tool to assign Civil Geometry rules to elements created by tools other than civil geometry tools of Open Roads Technology.

"Element Not Valid for Tool" Error:

MicroStation lines can become Civil Geometry ruled elements complete with manipulators and all the editing capabilities that derive therefrom.

    Workflow:

    1. The element must be in a 2D design model to be able to convert it to a Civil Rule Feature.

    2. Draw a MicroStation simple Line as a example.

    3. Open the Civil Tools task pane to the General Geometry section then click the Create Civil Rule Feature icon.

    4. Select the graphic element to which you wish to assign rules and right-click to reset to close the selection set.

5.The selected element now has been assigned civil rules and you can select a manipulator to edit.
