Simultaneous tracking for Horizontal and Vertical Alignments

Question:

When using the native InRoads Tracking commands, can you have the program show a tracking graphic in the profiles as you are tracking the horizontal alignment? Or have a line track in the Plan view along the alignment as you are utilizing the Vertical Alignment tracking?

Answer:

There is an option in the variable manager to allow simultaneous tracking for horizontal and vertical alignments. Go to Tools > Variable Manager (if not available, go to Tools > Application Add-Ins and turn on the Variable Manager Add-In) and look for the “Tools – Simultaneous Tracking” option. Toggle it on and select Apply. Now when you track the horizontal or vertical it will track the other dynamically.
