Import DGN does not Import the Materials

Problem Description:

I assign materials to surfaces in MicroStation, import the dgn into Conce
ptStation, The surfaces appear and are located properly but no material assignments are maintained.

Solution:

In Microstation, turn on your Material property as displayed in level manager (rt-click on columns, image below).

The way to set the property is to do rt-click Properties of the specific material and set its ByLevel settings.

Also, keep in mind that the level names need to be new/unique during the import, as the very first time a level is imported, it is forever held to that material.
