Question:

How do I create a copy of civil geometry?

Answer:

You will need to use the command Copy Element located at Geometry > Horizontal > Modify > Copy Element.

This will create a new geometry with the following properties:

The new geometry will have an incremented name of the original element. (For example, if the original was "CL", the copy will be "CL1".)
This will be an exact copy with all the original rules.
The new geometry will have the same feature definition as the original.
All intervals (gaps) are retained.

If you toggle on "Do not copy rules", a new instance of geometry will be created with the following properties:

The new geometry will have an incremented name of the original element. (For example, if the original was "CL", the copy will be "CL1".)
All civil rules will be removed.
The new geometry will have the same feature definition as the original.
All intervals (gaps) will be removed.

Note: The Drawing > Manipulate > Copy command will create an element that is not ruled, not featurized, not named, and not true civil geometry.
