    Question:

When accessing LumenRT through the ConceptStation Visualization option, we are unable to place animation objects (i.e. people, animals, trees, cars etc.)  It yields an error message:  "Unable to contact server. Please make sure you computer is connected to the internet."

    Answer:

This error occurs in both LumenRT and ConceptStation as the link to the content server is broken. (***Note: The e-on software content site is currently down but is expected to be fixed within the next month.***)  Therefore we need to manually install the LumenRT Content  from the Bentley Software Downloads and place it in the corresponding program directory for the program to read.  To do this:

    Download LumenRT Content

    • Go to the downloads page through the Connection Client or go to connect.bentley.com and search the downloads for "LumenRT".
    • After you search, make sure you disable the CONNECT filter, so the results can display all LumenRT Content.

    • Download the Bentley LumenRT Content People and Object (version 16.03.05.62) as well as the Bentley LumenRT Content Plants (version 16.03.05.61).

    • Once downloaded, if you have LumenRT Update 3 standalone installed, you should go to C:\ProgramData\e-onsoftware\LumenRT 2016\LumenRT Content and delete the content from that folder prior to running the executables.
    • Run the lumenrtcontent16030561en.exe and lumenrtcontent16030562en.exe to install the Content.

The content is installed to the machine and will need to be accessed and moved to the correct folder. If you have only installed ConceptStation and not downloaded and installed the SELECT release of LumenRT, the content is installed to:

    C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Bentley LumenRT CONNECT Edition - Update 3\LumenRT Content\LumenRT.

Note:  If you do have LumenRT installed, it should download the content to C:\ProgramData\e-onsoftware\LumenRT 2016\LumenRT Content and you would need to use this folder directory in the following steps to copy the content.

Copy LumenRT Content for use in LumenRT for ConceptStation

Once the LumenRT Content downloads and installs successfully, we need to move that information to the ConceptStation LumenRT folder for use.   In order for this to work, we MUST delete the existing content from the LumenRT Content folder and replace it with the downloaded content.  To do this:

    1. Go to C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Bentley LumenRT CONNECT Edition - Update 3\LumenRT Content\LumenRT
    2. Copy all the contents from the LumenRT folder.
    3.  C:\ProgramData\e-onsoftware\LumenRTCS 2016\LumenRT Content\LumenRT and delete all the information from inside this folder.
    4. Once deleted, you can paste in the information in C:\ProgramData\e-onsoftware\LumenRTCS 2016\LumenRT Content\LumenRT to move the downloaded LumenRT Content into the LumenRT for ConceptStation folder.
    5. Open ConceptStation and go to Visualization to access the objects for placement.
