Question:

What are the steps for Importing Lidar Data using OpenRoads Designer.

Answer:

Create Terrain from LAS

Select the OpenRoads Modeling Workflow

Select the Terrain tab > Create > From File. Set the File of type to Lidar(*.las) and locate and select the LAS file, then select Done.

The Import Terrain Model dialog box will open. Set the Projection if necessary (below the GCS is already set so there is no need for this step). Select the Feature Definition and then Import

Create Terrain from XYZ

Workflow is the same for XYZ file. Select the Terrain tab > Create > From File. Set the File of type to XYZ(*.xyz) and locate and select the XYZ file to import, then select Done.

The Import Terrain Model dialog box will open. Set the Projection if necessary. Select your Feature Definition and then Import.

Answer:

Create Terrain from LAS
