Survey Text File and Linking Code

Question:

I am having problems bringing in the survey code. I believe I do not have the correct format of survey text code. What is the correct format (what does the text survey code and text file need to look like) to bring in the survey code?

Answer:

In bringing in a text file, I suggest using Survey>Field Book>Import>Text Wizard, you could also import via Explorer>Survey Data.

An example of a more common survey text file is comma separated and consist of Point Name, Northing, Easting, Elevation, Code and possibly Description/Note with Linking Code ST being used to Start a linear feature. (see below).

At Explorer>OpenRoads Standards>Survey Settings>Settings (Properties)>Linking Codes Section>Linking Codes, the browse button (see below) will open LinkCodes.
