Question:

How can I apply invert calculations within OpenRoads Designer as I did with Survey Custom Operations in InRoads SELECTseries 2?

Answer:

Invert In and Invert Out elevations are now applied with Text Favorites.

To do so, within your design file, navigate to OpenRoads Standards>Annotation Groups>Plan>Linear3d>Survey and select Annotation Group for which Invert is to be added.

Select Drawing>Place Text

Within the Text Editor, key-in “Invert In ” a blank space should follow In.

Select Insert field and then Select OpenRoads Plan Annotation Fields as the Filed Type and then OK.

Within the Fields Editor, navigate to Linear Annotation>Line. Because this is the Invert In, expand Line Start and left-click to the right of “Z 0.000,” Coordinate Format will open to the right. *** For Invert Out, expand Line>Line End.

Left-click to the right of Select Coordinate Z, from the dropdown menu select Z and then OK.

Invert In 0.000’ should now appear in the Text Editor.

Select the Invert In 0.000’ from Text Editor (make sure that it is highlighted), right-click in the Text Editor and then select Save Text Favorite from the menu (you will see the newly saved Favorite listed). Close Text Editor.

Right-click on your Linear3d from your Survey Annotation Group and select Manage.

Select the green Add button at Annotation Group Linear Feature Along.

Select Add New>Linear3d Annotation

Select “Linear3d Annotation” and rename to Invert In

Scroll down to Text at the bottom of the menu and locate Favorite. Select the dropdown menu to the right of Favorite and select the Text Favorite name you added. Expand your design file name and select Invert In.

Repeat steps for Invert Out.
