Failed to Convert message when trying to Convert LAS to POD

Question:

When running the Point Clouds command to convert LAS to POD, the program returns a message "Failed to Convert". Also, in the Convert LAS dialog, the Geographic Information > Source Geometry Unit shows "2075" instead of "Survey Feet" or "Meters".

Answer:

One possible cause for this behavior might be that the unit "Meters" has been removed from the units.def file. Adding the meter definition back into the units.def may resolve the issue. Many files store their units in meters and convert based upon the units the user picks. Without the definition for meters it does not know how to convert, therefore, we keeping the meter definition available in the units.def even if it is not the standard for the organization that you are working with.
