Pan view and zoom are slow when survey decorations are turned on

Question:

When I use the pan view in a drawing with the survey decorations turned on, the detail, or the entire display, vanish during the pan movement, but the decorations are visible the whole time and then refreshed once the mouse stopped. There is also a definite lag between mouse movement and drawing view movement. I move the mouse and wait a second or two for the drawing to catch up. Zoom offers a similar experience.

How can I resolve this?

Answer:

In the Settings / User > Preferences and in View Options, there is 'Update Refresh' value.

By default it is set on 1 second which is the interval ORD refreshes the graphics. If the value is changed to something smaller, for instance 0.1, it will improve the frequency at which the survey elements are refreshed and displayed again.
