    Creating Stacked Fractions

    Question:

How do I create a stacked fraction in OpenRoads SignCAD?

    Answer:

To create a standard stacked fraction (1/4, 1/2, 1/5, 2/3 or 3/4) in OpenRoads SignCAD, use spaces before and after the fraction to reset the fraction from inline to stacked.

The fraction's numeral height is 2/3 the normal numeral height.  For full height numerals, oversize the fraction by 3/2, in other words use 1.5 times the text size to get fraction numerals the same size as the surrounding text.

    1) Set the Text size and font from the Preferences menu.

    2) Select the Text tool, position the text cursor in the panel and type <space>1/4<space>.

    3) Once the fraction is created, the spaces on either side of the fraction can be removed in the Text dialog box. If the fraction has text in front of and behind it, then the space characters remain (ex: EXIT ½ MILE).
