    Selecting Standards in OpenRoads SignCAD

    Question:

How do you select a standard in OpenRoads SignCAD?

    Answer:

When creating signs in OpenRoads SignCAD, it is important to select the correct standard. OpenRoads SignCAD contains the U.S. Federal and state standards that define fonts, character and object spacing, route markers, panels, arrows and symbols. The first screenshot shows how to check the standard being used in the current file. The standard that is grayed out is the standard for that file.

The second screenshot shows how to select a standard when creating a new file. When choosing OK FOR ALL in the new file dialog box, it will turn the new file prompting off and open any new files in the selected standard. For example, if U.S. 2009 is the selected standard in the new file dialog and OK FOR ALL is selected, then all new files created will default to the U.S. 2009 standard. If you choose OK in the new file dialog box, then you will be prompted to select a standard when choosing a new file.
