Single Element Nudge tool in OpenRail Designer

Product(s):OpenRail Designer
Version(s):10.09.xx.xx+
Area: Regression

This article gives a brief overview of the Single Element Nudge tool. The Nudge tool is used to make minor edits to geometry.

The tool can be found under OpenRail Modeling > Regression > Geometry Tools as seen below:

After selecting the geometry to edit a dialogue box will appear with settings that can be edited as desired.

For instance after selecting a tangent single element the dialogue will appear as shown below. Start and end points can be shifted/nudged by offset values set in the nudge offset field. Also the entire geometry can be shifted in the Start and End Point> Geometry Offset field.

Arc elements, for example, will give the user access to Center Point fields where the radius and coordinates specific to the arc can be manipulated

Here's a brief video example of the workflow using the nudge tool.
