Adjusting sign color display when opening, placing or pasting signs with the SignCAD MDL

    Question:

How do I adjust the sign color display when opening, placing or pasting signs with the SignCAD MDL?

    Answer:

To control the colors used when an OpenRoads SignCAD sign file is open, placed or pasted using the SignCAD MDL, adjust the color table values in the <Shape Color Definition> section of the SignCADColor.def file to match the color table values used in MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer.

    1) Open the SignCADColor.def file found in the C:\OpenRoads SignCAD folder in Notepad.

    2) Adjust the color table numbers under the <Shape Color Definition> section of the SignCADColor.def file to match the Color Table numbers (ex: 239 = Black; 8 = White) and save your changes.

    3) Close both OpenRoads SignCAD and MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer and then reopen them.

    4) Use the SignCAD MDL to open, place or paste a sign from OpenRoads SignCAD into MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer. The sign colors should display correctly.
