Displaying Components in Cross Section Sets

    Product(s): InRoads
    Version(s): 08.11.07+
    Area:  Cross Sections
Original Author: Jacquelyn Pettus, Bentley Technical Support Group

To display components in existing cross sections, you should use the Evaluation>Cross Section>Cross Sections command.

Use the selector button to select the correct cross section set.  Expand the Update Cross Sections folder and highlight Components.  Set the Mode to Display On and select the correct surface.  All available components will be displayed.

Please see the screenshot below.  This screenshot shows the components that are available for display in the cross section set.  You will also notice in the screenshot there are components in black, red and gray text.

If the component name is in black text, then select the component(s) and hit apply to display them in the cross section set.

If the component is in gray text, the style needs to be edited in the style manager to allow for display in the cross sections.  Make sure that Components is toggled on in the Surface Feature>Settings leaf of the Edit Style dialog.

If this component name is in red text, the feature style is not defined in the style manager.  One option is to simply change the style name under Surface > Feature > Feature Properties.

Another option is to create the style in the Style Manager so the component(s) can be displayed in the cross section.  The new style may be created by going to Tools > Style Manager.  Once in the Style Manager, the exact style name must be created that was used for the feature.

Once all the styles/symbologies have been verified and are displayed in black text, return to the Update Cross Section command to display them.
