Placing Templates

Introduction:  The instructions and video below show how to place sign templates in OpenRoads SignCAD.

Step 1:  In OpenRoad SignCAD, pick Place>Templates>Templates Manager to bring up the Import Template dialog.

Step 2:  In the Import Template dialog, scroll through the cascading menu and double-click on a folder to see the submenu items. Select a sign template to see a preview of the template. Press Import to place the sign template in the active file.

NOTE: If you select a sign template to import (ex: U.S. 2009) that uses a different standard from the active file (ex: Georgia), then you will receive a Place template message notifying you of the standard mismatch and automatic conversion of arrows, route markers and panels. Press Yes to the message.

Step 3: Left-click on the workspace to place the sign template. Notice that the Message Center feedback in the Status Bar shows Template imported successfully.
