How to gather the pwc.log file

Question:

How do I get the pwc.log file for troubleshooting within ProjectWise?

Answer:

  1. Open pwc.log.xml in Notepad from these two locations:
    1. C:\Program Files\Bentley\ProjectWise\bin
    2. C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\ProjectWise\bin
  2. Do a find and replace all within the pwc.log.xml files.
    1. Find “warn” replace with “all”
    2. Hit “Replace All”
    3. Save files
  3. Delete the pwc.log from here: C:\Users\<user.name>\AppData\Local\Bentley\Logs
  4. Close PW and re-launch PW Explorer.
  5. Run through the workflow in PW Explorer that you are troubleshooting.
  6. As soon as error appears go to the pwc.log file here: C:\Users\user.name \AppData\Local\Bentley\Logs
    1. Copy the pwc.log to your desktop and send to Bentley
