Export Geometry Project (*.alg) to ICS (*.ics)

      Applies To

      Product(s): InRoads
      Version(s): 08.11.07.566
      Environment:  N/A
      Area:  Geometry

This workflow will detail how to export a geometry project (*.alg) to an ICS file (*.ics) using XML Reports.

    Workflow

    1. Open the ALG in InRoads.  File > Open.
    2. Use the command Tools > XML Reports > Geometry.
    3. In the Geometry Report dialog, specify the horizontal alignments and Cogo Points you wish to include in the report.  Click Apply.

    4. In the Bentley Civil Report Browser, navigate to the ICS folder and select the file "ICSAuditTrail.xsl".

    5. Using File > Save As, this file can be saved out as a txt file and if desired, the extension can be change to "*.ics" in Windows Explorer.

    Notes:

      • If your alignment points do not have names, this report will produce unusable results for ICS input.
      • Cogo point names and alignment point names must follow the strict ICS naming conventions for this report to be usable as an ICS input file.
      • You must toggle on the Include Vertical Alignments option and select either All or Active if you wish to include them in this report.
