Other than the settings (width, surface type, surface depth, etc.), the only functional difference is how each interacts with parking areas.  You can see this in the image below.

Car and Truck drives will cause the parking to separate on both sides, the Street drive will act as a ROW and move all of the parking to the side with the biggest parking area. 

NOTE: Be careful not to connect a street drive to a parking area…the connection won’t work as it will try to move parking to one side.
