At times users experience repaint issues of dialog boxes or the Properties/Layer managers.  To fix this issue a user variable can be added

1. Open the Control Panel and navigate to System

2. Select Advanced system settings

3. On the System Properties dialog, click the Environment Variables… button

4. On the Environment Variables dialog, click the New button in User Variables section (Note: users might want to use a System Variable, which might require higher permissions. Consult your IT professional)

5. In the Variable name textbox, type J2D_D3D and in the Variable value textbox type false

6. Click the OK button

7. The value will be added.  On the Environment Variables dialog, click the OK button

8. On the System Properties dialog, click the OK button

9. Restart SITEOPS if open.  A full restart of the computer might be required.
