I am trying to model a portion of the retaining wall which will have a construction joint on one side and dowel joints on the other end of the panel. Any suggestions on whether pin support would simulate the joints at the end of the panels ?
I would think construction joints would not have an impact on the analysis as your wall would still behave as a monolithic entity after the construction is completed. So unless there are certain forces that would not transmit from one side of the joint to the other, you do not need to account for such joints in the analysis.
