Advanced cable analysis for cables with member offset command

Hello Everyone,

I have a model where the cable is not extended to the centroid of the Beam (CHS). I have offsetted the cables by 680mm in the local longitudinal axis as per the following detail:-. However the results (displacement, bending moment, etc) are too Huge and not logical as the initial prestress is set to only 0.001kN.

In the initial model, I have not used the offset command on the cables and initial prestress was set to 350kN and the analysis results were convincing.

Do note that I have also tried used Tension member command (without prestress) for the cables With offset. Again, the results were convincing to me, which makes me wonder why the results with 0.001kN prestress can extremely excessive.

Please also note that the torsional moment of the CHS occurs in the anti-clockwise direction about it's longitudinal axis (Mx) and also about its major axis (Mz). When there is a torsional moment on the CHS, the offsetted cable should be able to prevent CHS rotation as the pivot point is at an eccentricity from the centroid. Whereas, if the cable is connected to the centroid, there is no local moment as the centroid does not rotate.

Please assist on this.

Thank you.
