Unterstützung von V8i-Produkten und SELECTserver im Jahr 2020 / Support of V8i products and SELECTserver in 2020

Sehr geehrte sisNET- und sisHYD-Benutzer,

Im vergangenen November erhielten viele von Ihnen eine E-Mail von Bentley über die Einstellung des V8i-Produkt-Supports zum 1. Januar 2020. Am 21. November habe ich in unserem Forum eine Nachricht veröffentlicht, dass dies nicht für sisNET, sisFLOW, sisVIEW und sisIMS gilt, da die volle Unterstützung für die V8i-Version dieser Produkte bis Ende 2020 vereinbart wurde.

Neben Meldungen über die Unterstützung von V8i-Produkten wurde auch über den Status des SELECTServer-Lizenzpools gesprochen. In den letzten Tagen ist eine E-Mail von Bentley mit einem Update über den Support von V8i-Produkten und den SELECTServer-Lizenzpooling erschienen. Bentley V8i-Produkte, die älter als SS10 sind, bleiben bis zum 1. Juli 2020 im Supportzeitraum. Das SELECTServer-Lizenzpooling läuft bis Ende 2020.

Für unsere sisNET-Produkte, die auf V8i SS4 laufen, macht das keinen Unterschied, da wir bereits einen Support bis Ende 2020 vereinbart haben. Die unternehmensweite Bestätigung, dass SELECTServer auch ganz 2020 noch läuft, bedeutet, dass wir uns keine Sorgen um Lizenzfragen machen müssen.

Was die neueste E-Mail hervorhebt, ist, dass alle V8i SS4-Unterstützung sowie die SELECTServer-Unterstützung Ende 2020 eingestellt werden. Dies steht im Einklang mit der Richtlinie der sisNET-Produktgruppe, dass wir 2020, und nur 2020, haben alle bestehenden sisNET-Implementierungen auf die CONNECT Edition zu übertragen.

Derzeit arbeiten unsere Entwickler an den letzten Schritten zur Freigabe der ersten Version der sisNET CONNECT Edition und einem Update von sisHYD V8i.

Dear sisNET and sisHYD users,

Last November many of you received an e-mail from Bentley about the discontinuation of V8i product support as of January 1, 2020. On the 21st of November, I have posted a message on our forum that this does not apply to sisNET, sisFLOW, sisVIEW and sisIMS, as full support for the V8i version of these products has been arranged until end of 2020.

Besides messages about the support of V8i products, there has also been talk about the status of SELECTServer license pooling. In the past days, an email has gone out from Bentley with an update on the support of V8i products and of SELECTServer license pooling. Bentley V8i products, older than SS10, will stay in expiring support until July 1st, 2020. SELECTServer license pooling will keep running until end of 2020.

For our sisNET products, being on V8i SS4, this makes no difference as we already arranged support until end of 2020. The company-wide confirmation that SELECTServer will continue to run throughout 2020 means that we don't have to worry about licensing issues.

What the latest e-mail does stress is that all V8i SS4 support as well as SELECTServer support will stop at the end of 2020. This is in line with the policy of the sisNET product team that we have 2020, and only 2020, to move all existing sisNET implementations to CONNECT Edition.

Currently our developers are working on the last steps to release the first version of sisNET CONNECT Edition and an update of sisHYD V8i.
