Parts Database Connect Update (Required for all SQL Parts Databases)
Parts Database Connection string for SQL Parts Databases will need to be updated. Parts Database connection strings are stored in PartsDBMappings.xml. This does not apply to users using a Microsoft Access Parts Database. Two methods are available to perform this update.

1. Select desired SQL Parts Database from pulldown.
2. Click Edit.
3. Click Next in "Edit Parts Database" dialog.
4. Click Finish in the "Edit Parts Database" dialog.
5. Click Close button in "Configure Parts Database" dialog.
6. Ensure your SQL Parts Database is selected by using the pulldown.
7. Click OK in "Configuration Variables" dialog.
8. Restart Substation. (If using a ProjectWise Managed Workspace, you may need to use ProjectWise Explorer to upload the updated version on PartsDBMappings.xml to your managed workspace.)
Method 2: Use Windows Notepad to edit the PartsDBMappings.xml.
1. Open PartsDBMappings.xml.
2. Replace all occurrences of Provider=sqloledb with Provider=sqlncli11.
3. Save PartsDBMappings.xml
4. Restart Substation.
WorkSpace Seed File Update (Applies to Users Upgrading from Update 8 to Update 9)
Your existing Seed files may not be "Branded". CONNECT edition automatically Brands files associating them to a specific Workset, Workspace, and Design Application when an open filed is saved. To avoid possible issues related to file branding, it is recommended that proper branding be applied to all dgn seed files. These seed files are typically located within a Workspace or Workset "...\Templates\Page" folder. I.E. C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenUtilities Substation CONNECT Edition\Configuration\WorkSpaces\Substation ANSI-IEEE Example\Standards\Substation\Templates\Page
To "Brand" Substation seed files, simply open each substation file (.dgn) located in the above mentioned "..\Page" folder using "OpenUtilities Substation MicroStation Mode". If prompted to assign a Workspace and Workset during the open process, do so by making the proper selections. After file has opened, select File>Save Settings and Select "Yes" if prompted to change the Authoring product to Substation. Then Close the application.

If seed files are not properly branded, some workflows and function may lead to below unwanted message reappearing.
