***Important Note Regarding Project Database***

Prior versions of OpenUtilities Substation contained a Master Database Schema Version. Starting with this release, OpenUtilities Substation versions will have an additional Database Schema Version; known as, Database Sub Version. It is now possible that your Substation administrator can upgrade the Project Database prior to completing software installation on all users’ machines providing that the newer software version uses same Master Database Schema Version as the version that is being replaced.

In this release, “Update Database Method 1” described in Creating and Updating the Project Database - Substation CE will not upgrade a database having the same DB Schema Version. Use “Update Database Method 2” to upgrade your project database when the DB Schema Versions are the same.

After installing OpenUtilities Substation Connect Update 11, check your Master and Sub Database Schema versions using below steps.

1. Open Substation software.

2. In Project Manager, click Configure Databases button from the Admin menu.

3. Click Check Database Version button located in Configure Databases dialog.

4. The Database Version dialog will appear.

The upper region of the dialog box contains the following properties for the installed software version

Build version –Installed software version number.

Master Database Schema Version (DB Schema Version) – Required Master Database Schema version number for the currently installed software version.

Database Sub Version (DB Sub Version) – preferred Database Sub Version number for installed software version.

The lower region of the dialog box contains the following properties for the selected Database.

Example 1 - Master Database Schema versions do not match between installed software and the existing Project Database.

**This case does not support mix software versions accessing same database because DB Schema Versions are different.

Example 2 - Master Database Schema versions match between installed software and the existing Project Database.

**This case supports mix software versions accessing same database because DB Schema Versions are the same.

5. Select desired Database from pulldown.

6. After selecting a Database, the Database properties for Master and Sub Schema versions are shown.
