You shouldn't need to enable Markup. By default, all placement operations should be done in the overlay file rather than the DGN. I agree the description on the web site is confusing. The editing can only be done on the markups. I will try to clarify the description on the product web site.
I think we are going to try to set up a meeting with you to look at the other smart move issue, so maybe we could discuss this at the same time.
Thanks,
How do I enable markup mode? The description on the website is confusing as it indicates 'light editing'
The sample workspace delivered with the product has some very basic feature placement. How was this created and place and edit mode activated in the product?

Thanks
Thad

From the product desc on the web

"Perform light editing and markups in the field or the office. Add notes, record actions, and depict as-built status on digital maps. Return redlines to engineering and mapping departments for increased network model precision. Review and redline from the field without a wireless connection. "

RE: Enable editing in OUM PowerView

Hi Thad,
OpenUtilities PowerView does not support the editing mode seen in Bentley Map PowerView, only changes made in Markup mode.
Thanks,
